Disease Ecology. My research focuses on understanding: i) how entomological, pathogen (parasites or viruses) and epidemiological factors drive the expression of the spatial and temporal dynamics of some tropical insect-borne diseases (e.g., malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Zika, and filariasis), and ii) how parasite–host interactions shape short- and long-term epidemiological patterns and parasite–host co-evolution using human parasitic diseases (e.g., human onchocerciasis) as study systems
