I don't usually "follow-back", as I prefer to follow hashtags rather than accounts, it makes my timeline more relevant. It also avoids the unpleasant experience where I follow you because you write something great, only to be upset by some other area of your life or thoughts the next day.
So just because I'm not following you, doesn't mean I'm not reading you when you write on our mutual interests.
