About Learning Physics (Hosted by Prof. Stephen Sekula)

Higher-education-quality lecture videos for learning physics. I have been a professor of physics since 2009, when I joined the faculty at Southern Methodist University. There I was mentored by many other faculty, in physics, education, and other disciplines, and after several years developed a preferred teaching style. My favourite model is the flipped classroom with interactive learning during class time and lecture watching/book reading outside of class time. I am now a professor at Queen’s University in Canada, but on secondment to SNOLAB to serve as the Research Group Manager. While I am not teaching at this time, I hope you find value in my teaching videos. The videos in this channel cover a range of physics subjects from various eras of my teaching. “Physics III” (Modern Physics) was my most recent course, followed very closely by “Physics I”. “Physics II” was the course where I first flipped my classroom model, so it’s the least polished … but the physics is still good!
