Why do I read books? Because social reality doesn't come like topaz crystals, already crafted. It is well hidden in the camouflage of culture, taboo, religion, laws, and the maze of daily life. To view the past, present, and future as a landscape shaped by the multiple forces of seen and unseen nature is a way to gauge social reality.
